We recognize that in order to achieve our goal of permanently protected wild salmon habitat, we must promote economically successful yet sustainable communities that preserve our culture and the ecosystems on which we depend.
In 2007 we launched the Sustainable Communities initiative. The goal is to envision, research, and experiment with carefully considered sustainable businesses. Our role in the process is to support development of Alaskan business models that preserve wilderness and Indigenous cultures while building sustainable-over-centuries economies.
